Rolling out this Spring (End of April) is another Google Algorithm that is focus on mobile websites and rending better quality websites for their search users. Thankfully Google has given us a little bit of a heads up as to what the algorithm and website crawl will be looking for so we are able to make the changes necessary so we do not see those listings on the top page in local or organic results suddenly drop off the face of the earth.

There is nothing worse than spending time ranking a website and a new Google Algorithm is released and we do not know why our listing disappeared and with this list we as SEO specialists or Web Designers can help prevent that.

 This new update is aimed at compliance for those websites who are not mobile friendly. Up till this point compliance was an option but at this point we know those websites not catering to the now over 50% of Google users are going to be SEVERELY punished!

What does this mean? If your website does not render a different aspect for mobile and tablet devices your page rank will most likely drop significantly while if you have competition in your market with a mobile responsive web design they will flourish. Even if your website looks good on a mobile device or tablet if it is not a mobile website your ranking is going to be effected.

Google has said that this algorithm will be a real time update meaning that as soon as your website is re-crawled and is mobile friendly your website and listings will benefit. If your website has 5 pages mobile friendly and 5 that are not, the pages that are mobile responsive or friendly will benefit.
